Purim Nosh Tags

This probably doesn't look very feminine but the colors, the flower buttons & the soft look are definitely girlier than my usual!  Usually I make projects for the fun of it & try to keep them as neutral as possible because I have no idea what (if anything) they'll be used for. This time I knew I was creating tags for women so I knew girly would be ok!

Michal, the second layer of paper is mulberry paper (although I'm not sure if it's from the pack you gave me, as I combined all my mp). It was just what I wanted to add a soft touch of interest and texture to the tags! Thanks again!

(These gift packages were shared in honor of the holiday of Purim. http://www.chabad.org/holidays/purim/default_cdo/jewish/Purim.htm)

Alef-Beit & other Hebrew, Yiddish and Jewish stamps!

shalom stamps
I emailed her and asked her if I could purchase the stamps without the mounting block or ink pads. She had me mail her a check for $10 & then mailed the stamp set with the mounting block.

Masculine Card with Embossed Flower

I left a space under the design element to add a sentiment, once I decide on one, either by heat embossing directly on the card or on a separate slip of paper

Happy Birthday and

Happy accomplishment to me, that I finally got this done! I have a lot going on now thank G-d (passover, school, among other fun stuff) & i've been creating, contemplating & finally completing this card in lots of fits & starts over the past few weeks. I feel relieved to have it finished & it came out looking quite interesting, mostly in a good way :)!

Some Angst and Some Scraps

I had a very hard day last week and i knew I wanted to do something creative to get out some of the negative energy but I didnt want to plan and measure and ink up and get messy. This was the simpler option, where I chose my scraps- and about halfway through I realized most of them were either neutrals or had some pink in them!- cut them up, gluesticked them & pasted in place. Of course it ended up being a bit technical and I had to strategize a few times & i had some messy cuttings afterwards but it was probably still a simpler project compared to my usual!

Rochel'e's Card and Pin

(Sorry, blogger apparently wanted to have fun with the orientation of the second pic!)

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2013/08/stamp-a-faire-opening-ceremony-and-breakfast-bake-take.html This is meant to resemble the 2nd color recipe & the 2nd sketch

Sara'le's Card and Pin

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2013/08/stamp-a-faire-opening-ceremony-and-breakfast-bake-take.html This is meant to look like the 6th color recipe & the 4th sketch. I think I need to win some PTI goodies so I can follow the challenges more closely!

Liba's Card and Pin

My nieces get to celebrate at their aunt's wedding tomorrow night G-d willing and I've been given the (paid :)) honor of making their hairclips. In my (overly) loving aunt-hood, & also because I love these challenges, I made cards to clip the pins onto. This is the card for my almost-3-year-old niece, Liba (her name is stamped in Hebrew under the rest of the stamps):

Fun fact: Liba had her first haircut for her pretty baby curls just 3 weeks ago! Her talented older (by a bit more than a year) brother gives surprisingly half-decent haircuts! He voluntarily cut his sister's hair & left only one small bald spot. He also very kindly only cut the hair on the right side of her head. Lucky for him his parents were amused & now his little sis is the first (& prob only one) to sport this ultra-modern hairstyle!

Birthday Cake II, Not as Speedy

So this is what my first cake card looked like, once it dried:

I like the beads but its about 25x stronger than the rest of the image, esp with the yellow layer on top (that's one end of my multi-color inkpad).
But, now that I already opened my birthday cake set, I wanted to play with it successfully & eventually I came up with this tag:

Speedy Birthday Cake

I can't believe this only took about 8 minutes! Once the beads dry I may make the yellow a bit bolder but I'll definitely post a picture!

Pretty Punchouts Get a Chance to Shine

Most of the elements card on this card are the leftovers and salvaged mess-ups of another project I recently did- they were too pretty to throw away!
http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/designers-choice-challenge/dcc73-monochrome/ I consider the light browns, beiges, ivories and golds to be monochromatic but you can disagree & remove this from the contest

New Table Tray!

there are a few things i like to keep on my table such as a napkin holder, a salt shaker, a prayer book etc. and I find it easier to just keep it all on one small tray. I finally got a new melamine tray to replace my old &  filthy one. the new one, however, was just as ugly as the old one, even though its a dif pattern, because apparently the tray's designers try to outdo their previous achievements in ugliness :/.  you can see a bit of the original pattern along the top edges length-wise, where it shows through the tissue paper. once this layer of mod podge dries im going to do another one of outdoor podge so I can wash it eventually (and/or feel guilty about not washing it ever). im really liking it so far!

Paisley Stamp!

I love paisley and I recently finally splurged & ordered a paisley stamp & when it came I had to take it with me, with my stamp block, ink etc., to  school to play with. the paisley was done on regular copy paper & colored with my prisma color pencils. the top picture is more accurate but still not so true to life. sorry about the lighting- I have awful lighting in my apartment & a camera that's really making me appreciate how much my skills have advanced, definitely more than the camera's!
