Create a stamped background

I really liked this project http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2011/09/make-it-monday-31-creating-backgrounds-with-non-background-stamps.html and I tried stamping a background for giftwrap for a large gift. some of the lessons i learned is not to work on a large area, at least not the first time im trying something, or without rotating the paper as i go, or graphing to paper to some degree. im not talented or skilled enough to come up with a reasonably even project just by eyeballing it! and because the paper was so big it really took time and started cramping my arm. i sprayed the whole paper with (crafter's companion) multicolored glitter spray before admitting defeat. most of the background came out ridiculously lopsided and really not usable. i ended up cutting out the one even strip and using it to cover the gap of the wrapping paper i did end up making and it looked really elegant there ( i forgot to take a picture of it). i cut out some individual pieces of the background to hopefully use for some other project. so i gained some good lessons, one elegant strip and a few nice clippings. ill keep visiting make it monday and i hope to do better!
