Note: I want to make it clear that I am not making fun of the traditional Jewish or Chabad dating system. The system itself is based on Torah, is intrinsically holy and meaningful, and, for the most part, successful. Marriage, children and families are primary, beloved Jewish values and the Jewish religious divorce rate has always been much lower than in secular or non-Jewish communities. You can check out this subsite, Finding Your Soulmate, for more info about Jewish dating and marriage or feel free to email me for more details. Most of the parodies in my mini-series are poking fun at modern communal norms that have no source in Torah or tradition, and usually are ineffective or even counter-effective. My (nsh) opinion is that it's the human factor that can be ignorant of, ignore or distort the system, on an individual or cultural level. As in most other things in life, people can mess things up really well but it's usually equal to our power to make them whole and beautiful.
I hope you enjoyed my fun little project and didn'tmind the preaching too much! Next time I'll probably go back to simple mazel tov and happy birthday creations!
